Washington, DC – Cultural Vistas is pleased to announce the appointment of Christian Hänel to its Board of Directors, effective May 14, 2021. Christian most recently served as Senior Vice President Future Issues and Foundation Development at the Robert Bosch Stiftung in Stuttgart, Germany. He brings almost two decades of experience in philanthropy in various management and advisory roles. Christian has headed International Relations departments at the Robert Bosch Stiftung, developing and overseeing the foundation’s portfolio in America, Asia, Europe, Middle East and North Africa.

As Senior Vice President Future Issues and Foundation Development, his tasks included challenges and opportunities for the impact ecosystem in the nonprofit sector, digitization, sustainable alumni networks, agile structures, and strategic foresight. He has led the strategic planning, implementation and evaluation of international and transnational partnerships and programs in topic areas such as civil society, governance, promoting Europe, international affairs and global issues, education and cultural exchange. Christian holds a M.A. in history and economics from the Universität Bielefeld in Bielefeld, Germany and Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland in the United States.
