Apply for “DIY: Diversity, Inclusion, Youth” a YSEALI Regional Workshop on diversity and inclusion

Kuala Lumpur – Are you looking to broaden your knowledge and gain insight into diversity and inclusion in the ASEAN region and Timor-Leste? Do you desire to activate inclusive best practices within your workplace? Apply to be a part of “DIY: Diversity, Inclusion, Youth” a YSEALI Regional Workshop on diversity and inclusion to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in August 2022.

The U.S. Embassy in Malaysia, in partnership with Cultural Vistas, will host the DIY: Diversity, Inclusion, Youth YSEALI Regional Workshop.

The workshop will include young leaders from across 10 ASEAN member nations and Timor-Leste who express commitment to advocating for diversity and inclusion practices in their workplaces, communities, and Southeast Asia. This fully-funded program will consist of several vital components. Pre-workshop virtual activities and the three-day workshop in Kuala Lumpur will offer background on diversity and inclusion frameworks as well as an introduction to the best practices for implementing diversity initiatives. Post-workshop virtual engagement will provide an opportunity for the participants to demonstrate lessons learned in multinational teams and as individuals. Participants will work in teams, use small grants to implement their projects/campaigns, and deliver presentations on their success to audiences in their communities and throughout the region.

The application deadline is May 8, 2022. To be eligible, all applicants must be 18-35 years old, be registered members of YSEALI, and be from one of the 11 YSEALI nations. Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate an interest in, and commitment to, civic education in their local community or nation.
