RIT Internship Program in Argentina

The Rochester Institute of Technology Spring/Summer Internship Program in Argentina provides RIT students with an opportunity to complete either a language course followed by an internship or just a language course in Buenos Aires or Córdoba during the Spring or Summer semesters. Internships are available in a variety of fields, including, but not limited to computer science, engineering, business, and liberal arts.

Cultural Vistas, in collaboration with COINED and the Rochester Institute of Technology Office of Career Services and Cooperative Education, offers two program options in Argentina for RIT students:

  1. A two-week Spanish language course followed by a 10-week internship in your field (extensions possible)
  2. A four- to twelve-week Spanish language course (extensions possible)

Application Deadline

November 15, 2017 for the Spring Semester

January 15, 2018 for the Summer Semester

Eligibility

  • Full-time enrollment at RIT
  • Two years of post-secondary instruction in Spanish or the equivalent (for the internship option only)
  • Minimum of two years of university-level studies
  • Practical experience in target internship field is preferred for the internship option (e.g. summer employment, prior internship, research position, etc.)

  • Re-entry information and tips on marketing international experience to U.S. employers

Program Fees

Includes housing with host families in a shared room for the duration of the program and all services listed above; program fees do not include insurance fees or visa fees.

However, should you encounter any difficulties in uploading your application materials, please feel free to send them in hard copy to the address indicated below along with any documents requiring original signatures. The complete application must be submitted by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time Zone) on the day of the application deadline, including any letters of recommendation or transcripts mailed separately.

Application materials to be submitted:

  2. Professional Photo
    Your photo should be the same size and format as a passport photo, taken from the shoulders up in front of a monochromatic background. You should wear business attire. The picture can be taken with a digital camera but should be good quality.

  5. Letter of recommendation from a current or former employer.
    Recommenders can email letters or PDFs directly to us at usabroad@culturalvistas.org or they can mail hard copies of the documents to our New York office.
  6. Letter of recommendation from a professor qualified to comment on your Spanish language skills (internship option only)

  7. One-page resume in Spanish (internship option only)
    Your Spanish resume should reflect your skills and experience as in your English resume.
  8. Completed diagnostic Spanish language test (internship option only)
  9. Personal statement in Spanish titled “Mis esperanzas sobre el programa en Argentina” (internship option only). The statement should not exceed one typewritten page (1.5 spacing, 12 point font) and should address the following topics:
    • The field in which you would prefer to intern
    • The type of work you expect to do
    • What skills you have to offer a host company as an intern, and where and how you acquired those skills, i.e. How are you prepared to work in your desired field?
