U.S. Internships Make a World of Difference for Women in Business

In honor of Women’s History Month, Cultural Vistas recently launched the Coalition for American Business Skills by hosting a special roundtable discussion at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce focused on how internships and structured training programs with American companies can act as a game-changer for aspiring women entrepreneurs around the world. An engaged audience of over 40 businesspeople, NGO representatives, and foreign embassy officials gathered on Wednesday, March 28 to learn more about the work of the Coalition and hear from accomplished female leaders about the vast local and global economic benefits of U.S. internships, and how they promote entrepreneurship and empower women.…

Korean Interns Thrive at New York Construction Company

King Rose Construction hosts international interns from a variety of academic backgrounds, but they all share one thing in common: they’re all Korean. In the past few years, the New York-based contracting company has been home to seven interns through Cultural Vistas’ Korea WEST program, which brings Korean university students to the United States to study English, intern in an American company, and travel. For some people, work slows down in December, but not for our alumni–we could barely keep up! They’re an impressive bunch, if I must say so myself. Here’s a list of updates on what some of our Cultural Vistas alumni have been up to in the past month. 1. Ukrainian Alumni Speak on Youth Activism Anya Suprunenko (IVLP) and Liza Shchepetylnykova (Muskie) participated in our first Alumni Discussion Series event focused on Youth Activism and Leadership in Ukraine.
