Introducing the 14th Class of the Alfa Fellowship Program

NEW YORK – At a time of increasing need for specialists with Russia expertise, the Alfa Fellowship Program affords exceptional young American, British, and German leaders the opportunity to receive meaningful professional experience in Russia. Cultural Vistas is therefore pleased to announce the 14th class of the Alfa Fellowship Program.

This high-level professional development initiative enables fellows to work at leading organizations in Russia in the fields of business, economics, journalism, law, public policy, and related areas. The key goals of the Alfa Fellowship Program are expanding networks of American, British, and German professionals, developing greater intercultural understanding, and advancing knowledge of Russian affairs in the west.

The program sent the first group of fellows from the United States to Russia in 2004. It was expanded to include U.K. citizens in 2009, and German citizens in 2014. More than 140 young Americans, Britons, and Germans have taken part in this intercultural professional development experience to date.

The 14th fellowship cohort consists of 13 emerging leaders from across the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany in the fields of energy economics, law, public policy, journalism, consulting and international affairs in Russia. Fellows have just completed four months of intensive private language tutoring in their home countries and will spend the summer in Moscow continuing their language training, while also attending lectures at the Higher School of Economics and participating in business meetings with private and public sector leaders. They will also go on two regional trips during the summer before commencing the work assignment phase of the program in October.
