Meet the 2017 Class of the Alfa Fellowship Program

NEW YORK – Cultural Vistas is pleased to introduce the Alfa Fellowship Program’s 15th class of fellows.

The Alfa Fellowship Program was founded in 2004 to foster a community of emerging leaders who have first-hand experience in the business, public policy, and cultural environments of Russia. Since then, over 150 Americans, Britons, and Germans have had the opportunity to work, live, and travel in Russia and the region.

This high-level professional development initiative enables fellows to work at leading organizations in the fields of business, economics, journalism, law, public policy, and related areas. The key goals of the Alfa Fellowship Program are expanding networks of American, British, and German professionals, developing greater intercultural understanding, and advancing knowledge of Russian affairs in the West.

The 15th fellowship cohort consists of 17 emerging leaders from across the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany in the fields of energy, law, public policy, journalism, consulting, and, new this year, aeronautical engineering, cybersecurity, and healthcare.

Fellows completed four months of intensive language tutoring in their home countries and are now spending the summer in Moscow continuing their language training, while also attending lectures at the Higher School of Economics and participating in business meetings with private and public sector leaders. They will also go on two regional trips during the summer before commencing the work assignment phase of the program in October. Other highlights of the year will include a trip to another country in the region and a special “Fellowship Day” celebration.
