The Cultural Vistas Korea WEST program provides U.S. organizations with the opportunity to bring a new dynamic into their workplace by hosting talented South Korean university students and recent graduates in career-focused internships.

A joint initiative between the Republic of Korea and the U.S. Department of State, Korea WEST enables participants to immerse in a new culture, explore future careers through 6-to-12 month internships with U.S. companies, and develop the lifelong personal and professional skills and competencies that set them apart in today's global marketplace.

Since 2009, Cultural Vistas has provided more than 400 students and young professionals the opportunity to enrich their academic studies and advance their careers through the Korea WEST program.

Why host Korea WEST interns?

  • The exchange of culture, knowledge, and perspectives between U.S. staff and WEST participants is often invaluable. Plus, there are no program fees for WEST host companies.
  • Reach qualified, high-caliber participants: Participants come from a wide range of educational backgrounds and disciplines and are each competitively selected by the South Korean Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.
  • Flexible internship length: Internships can vary in length from six to 12 months.
  • Participants enter the United States with all the necessary training documents; eliminating the need for additional visa paperwork.

Eligibility and Requirements
Cultural Vistas is designated by the U.S. Department of State as an Exchange Visitor Program Sponsor for WEST (Work, English Study, Travel) programs.
